- This has all of the proper Taxco marks, Some initials, J with an illegible second letter after it, the eagle mark has a 3 inside. It also says Mexico and 925. After the Taxco are the letters CRO. Measures 2" Has someone's code number engraved on the back--people used to do this in case their items were stolen. The abalone is inlaid and gorgeous. This was a tarnished mess when I found it. But, with a little bit of elbow grease I got it to shine. No polish was used. I worry that polish erodes the surface and gets into the little microscopic places inbetween the silver and the abalone.
