Clean defective Stanford Research DG535 delay generator. When powered on it booted correctly with a clear display but then after several seconds there was a cracking sound and the unit gave a burned smell. I opened the case. The burned smell came from the front of the lower board but I could see any burned components. I believe the lower board is shot but the upper board, front panel display board, and high voltage output board are good.
