His keen insights benefited students entering pastoral and academic ministry in Europe and the United States. As is to be expected in a 145-year-old volume, there are signs of typical wear — cover lightening from gentle handling, age spots on some pages, and some loosening of the spine that can be seen when the front or back cover is opened (though no pages are loose). Additionally, the former owner’s name is written on the inside cover and there are some very light, small pencil marks on some pages. See the pictures for visuals of each of these characteristics.
