Beautiful Tibetan GAU made of silver An extremely rare handcrafted piece! I bought the amulet with a Tibetan who lives in Nepal in exile. The Tibetan amulet can be opened at the back like a small box. Tibetans wear the so-called Gaus around their necks. Religious good luck charms and medicinal herbs are kept in them. They are often used as “portable shrines”. The beautiful pendant is made of a silver mixture made from old coins. The Gau is in the shape of a mandala and has lots of turquoise and a coral occupied. Turquoise and coral are the traditional Tibetan stones found in most Tibetan jewelry. Dimensions: 6.4 cm high, 4.0 cm wide, 1.7 cm thick.
