From the Preface: "This book was written for an introductory course in probability and/or random processes. The duration of the course can extend from one quarter to two semesters depending on the amount of material covered. The book is intended to provide the minimum background in probability and random processes that is necessary for students interested in application to engineering and the sciences. Although it is aimed primarily at upperclassmen and beginning graduate students the only prerequisite is the standard calculus course usually required of undergraduates in engineering and science."
