I am a retired ObGyn and medical historian who has collected books and instruments for over 40 years. Age and downsizing have prompted me to pass along my items to younger collectors with the space to display them. As time permits, I will be listing approximately 300 books and over 100 instruments on eBay.

This is an original 1925 "Medical Education: a Comparative Study" by Abraham Flexner. 334pp.

It is hardbound in green cloth with gold stamping on the spine. The spine has library classification in white and a slight tear at the top; the cover shows shelf wear. The binding and pages are tight; the pages show yellowing from age, but are unmarked. It measures ~ 9.5 x 6.5 x 1", and weighs ~ 1 lb 14 oz. Overall good condition. Please look at the photos.

Abraham Flexner (1866-1959) was an American educator best known for his 1910 "Report on Medical Education in the United States and Canada" prepared for the Carnegie Foundation. His detailed review of 155 medical schools led to major improvements in the quality of undergraduate medical teaching. This 1925 volume compares the medical education systems in Europe to those in the USA.
