Questions and answers:
Q:How to determine the size of axle I want?
A: If you want to get the correct axle, you need to please double check your stud spacing and your hub face spacing and leaf spring spacing. See below for how to measure.
If you are building your trailer from scratch then you don't have to worry about measuring anything. Just choose the width of the axle you want.
Stud Spacing.
Select the spacing of two adjacent studs from the centre of one to the centre of the other; or select a stud and measure from the centre of the stud to the centre spacing of a symmetrical stud.
Hub Face Spacing (HF):
Refers to the length of the axle measured from the bottom of one wheel stud to the bottom of the wheel stud on the other side.
You can get this dimension by measuring from where two wheels butt together on one side of the axle to where two wheels butt together on the other side of the axle.
This measurement is important, and allow an inch or so of error between your measured spacing and the dimensions we show.
Spacing between leaf springs (SC):
Is the approximate width of the trailer. It is measured from the centre of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the centre of the spring seat on the other side. This axle beam has spring seats welded to it.
